NVEST Newsletter, February 2025

NVEST Newsletter, February 2025
NVEST Newsletter, February 2025

Co-designed by Data to Insight, Essex County Council, and system experts, NVEST is the National Voice for Excellence in Safeguarding Tech - a new, freely accessible, platform-agnostic venue for local authorities to work together to improve the information systems we use to support safeguarding work.

We're creating a network of local authorities who can work together and pool ideas and resources. We'll share new developments, research, and innovation. We'll act as a consultative group for central government, IT suppliers and others. Above all, we'll work together to improve systems and tech processes so that vulnerable people experience better outcomes.

We are very excited to announce that Eileen Munro, Emeritus Professor of Social Policy in the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics, will be sharing her latest thoughts on safeguarding and technology at our planned event on 27th February 2025.

At this first meeting we will also be discussing the aims and objectives of NVEST, hearing about the latest updates on the Government’s Strategy for improving Case Management Systems and consulting you about how you think NVEST will work most effectively for your authorities to help inform its Terms of Reference.

Invitation to participate in research

Two of our NVEST co-founders, Ida Cohen and Pippa Barker, are currently supporting a DfE project to explore options for government to help improve the effectiveness of case management systems in LAs, particularly through introducing new standards. They are keen to engage Practitioners, System Support Workers and Performance Leads from a broad range of LAs as part of this work, initially through two workshops.

This is an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas about how standards could help to improve your experience in using case management systems.  Sessions have been scheduled on 5/03/2025 11am and 6/3/2024 at 3pm, you only need to join one of these, each of them will run for about 1.5 hours.  If you would like to join, please email Harry.Angus@socialfinance.org.uk and let him know which session you would like to attend.
