Data to Insight is not a software supplier in the traditional sense -- we're here to help local authority (LA) colleagues get work done and share it with each other. The best thing about Data to Insight is the community of analysts who are doing and sharing great work through this network.
We recognise that different LAs want different levels of engagement with our work. As such, we offer four key collaboration approaches to suit different users’ information needs.

This is the full Data to Insight toolkit. Click through to download current, previous, and beta versions of our tools. For support, or to contribute to development, visit our community spaces.

Benchmarking Tool (BMt)
A comprehensive, frequently updated compendium of national datasets relating to Children's Social Care, with table and chart views, and options to create your own comparator groups.

Cut the ChAT
A simple tool to generate a copy of the ChAT which includes only the tabs you want, to reduce the file size, speed up performance, and keep your inbox happy.

Demand Modelling Tool for CLA Placements
A powerful Excel tool which uses PowerQuery to ingest multiple years of SSDA903 data files, and generates adjustable cost and demand models for different kinds of CLA placements.

Demand Modelling Tool 2021

COVID ChAT
Use your Annex A child-level data to quickly track emerging trends through lockdowns, local emergencies, and other time-sensitive situations.

DfE VCYP Survey Tool
Download your LA's data from the DfE portal, add in your latest data submission, and track performance locally.

SSDA903 Statutory Returns Predictor
Load in completed data returns each summer, and get an advance view of local performance, before the DfE share your data with the world.

CIN Census Statutory Returns Predictor

D2I annual governance reports
Our Annual Report to Colleagues is an open document outlining our work over the previous year and our intentions for the near future. We review our goals and achievements, point out key learning, and gauge overall performance and value for money. We do this so colleagues, whatever their role, can feed back on our strategic direction.
