Supporting practitioners and managers to use their case management system effectively requires a team with the right blend of skills, knowledge, passion, creativity, and patience. High‑quality support makes a significant difference to how users engage with—and even feel about—the system they rely on every day.

As part of the Centre of Excellence design work, we identified two teams whose approach exemplifies outstanding practice. Newcastle City Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have developed innovative and user‑centred ways of delivering support. They will be sharing their experiences and the positive impact their work is having on staff.

During this session, we will hear directly from these support teams and from some of the users they work with. We’ll also explore this important area of practice more broadly and discuss how the Centre of Excellence could help local authorities strengthen their case management support.

We're hosting a special D2I show and tell event for LA colleagues to discuss best practice around information governance, data sharing, and enabling data for multi-agency working. This will help us share the learning we've gathered from recent projects, and offer an opportunity for any LA colleagues to share their own experiences.

This session is for LAs to come together and discuss progress and challenges in implementing FFP and to share ideas. The session will be facilitated by Pippa Barker and there will be representatives from TAG present to contribute.

Join us as we explore the work undertaken through the North West Learning and Support Hub to improve the use of multi-agency data and insights by Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships (LSCPs). We will be joined by Jo Beese, who led the data work on this project.

Topics will include:

• Developing multi-agency datasets for LSCPs

• Focusing on thematic priorities, including neglect and exploitation

• Culture and curiosity: highlights from focused work on sharing insights, narratives, and collaborative approaches

These workshops will provide a unique overview of the current EH and CSC landscape, as this is - to our knowledge - the only nationally benchmarked EH dataset available. 

Local authorities are searching for ways to join up information about children and families – particularly through the Family First programme. Many areas are committed to creating a single digital view but get stuck on the practical ‘how’.

Join Research in Practice and Somerset Council for an open access webinar on 16 June that will explore building a single digital view for Children and Family Services.

The webinar will spotlight Somerset’s journey to build the Transform Family View, a sophisticated single digital view of the child.

This session will explore technical concepts, but it will be accessible for non-technical professionals. Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions.

Join us for the next session in our support series for local authorities implementing the Families First Partnership Programme reforms, with a focus on understanding the newly released guidance and its implications for data and reporting. Key documents covered include the updated Programme Guide, Family Group Decision Making resources, the National Framework, and Working Together 2026.

We will be focusing on sharing knowledge around Health measures, and we will provide an update on definitions.

Data is now the number one asset for public sector organisations wishing to transform outcomes for citizens, and there is huge excitement about the possibilities. Government has been increasingly active in furthering the use of data and AI, and consulting on a new pro-innovation regulatory framework.

At this conference we will take a joined-up look at some key opportunities and challenges for public bodies and their suppliers, hearing from a diverse range of exciting speakers about current thinking and best practices.
